Sony’s PS3 goes 3D

0

Shacknews reports that Sony plans to roll out an upgrade for the PlayStation 3 next year that will allow players to experience games in full 3D.

According to the article, Blitz Games Studios has revealed that in 2009 the PS3 will support both stereoscopic 3D and Blu-ray 3D gaming.

Only one announcement has been made so far concerning what 3-dimensional games will be released on the PS3, the video game adaptation of James Cameron’s 3D sci-fi action film Avatar (not to be confused with the animated TV show), which like the film it’s based on, will take advantage of modern 3D technology.

Sony might finally understand that less is more when it comes to the casual gamer. They might just have a new ploy that will sway some gamers to their platform. Only time will tell.
